Job summary

Barnes & Thornburg LLP is seeking an experienced litigation settlement Paralegal to support its product liability and mass torts team. You will manage settlement documentation, handle claims data, and coordinate with attorneys, clients, and vendors to ensure accurate and timely settlements across high-volume matters.

The role requires 3+ years in litigation support, mass tort exposure, and familiarity with case management tools and Medicare reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate required.
• 3+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal with prior settlement or claims administration experience.
• Experience with mass tort or multidistrict litigation (MDL), complex litigation, or high-volume settlement administration.
• Extensive experience supporting large-scale settlements involving thousands of claimants.
• Familiarity with medical records, lien resolution, and Medicare reporting requirements.
• Familiarity with matter management systems and AI tools; proficiency in Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, organize, and manage settlement documents and related databases.
• Assist intake, review, evaluation, and organization of claims information.
• Collaborate with attorneys to ensure timely progress of workflows and documentation.
• Conduct settlement research and draft correspondence or reports.
• Assist with FDA or MMSEA reporting per client guidelines.
• Provide updates on case statistics and settlement status.
• Review settlement agreements and coordinate payment requests and disbursements.
• Maintain accurate case data in claims databases and management systems.
• Draft and review court documents for filing in various jurisdictions.
• Communicate directly with opposing counsel and clients.
• Support claim assessments and ensure compliance with policies and laws.
