Barnes & Thornburg is seeking an experienced litigation settlement paralegal to support a product liability and mass torts resolution team. The role emphasizes large-scale settlements, data management, and close collaboration with attorneys and clients.

The ideal candidate will have a paralegal certificate or a bachelor’s degree and 3+ years in litigation settings, with mass tort and claims administration experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or Paralegal Certificate required.
• 3+ years as a litigation paralegal, with settlement or claims administration experience.
• Experience with mass tort or multidistrict litigation (MDL) and high-volume settlement administration.
• Extensive experience supporting large-scale settlements with thousands of claimants.
• Familiarity with medical records, lien resolution, and Medicare reporting requirements.
• Proficiency with matter management systems and AI tools (Harvey); Pattern and Case Manager Pro experience a plus.
• Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and manage settlement documents, case management databases, and mass tort workflows.
• Assist intake, evaluation, and organization of claims information using firm-approved tech.
• Collaborate with attorneys to ensure timely progress of settlement workstreams.
• Perform legal research and draft correspondence or reports as needed.
• Support FDA/MMSEA reporting per client guidelines and update case stats.
• Coordinate settlement disbursements and review settlement agreements for accuracy.
• Maintain accurate case information in claims databases and matter management systems.
• Draft and review court documents for filings in various jurisdictions.
• Communicate with opposing counsel and clients; assist with claim assessments.
