Job summary

Barnes & Thornburg seeks an experienced litigation settlement Paralegal to support a mass tort settlement team in high-volume litigation. You will coordinate settlements, manage documents and case data, and liaise with clients, settlement administrators, opposing counsel and vendors to ensure timely settlement completion in compliance with guidelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree and/or Paralegal Certificate required.
• 3+ years of experience as a litigation paralegal with settlement or claims administration experience.
• Experience with mass tort or multidistrict litigation (MDL) or high-volume settlement administration.
• Extensive experience supporting large-scale settlements involving thousands of claimants and claims administration.
• Familiarity with medical records, lien resolution, and Medicare reporting requirements.
• Familiarity with matter management systems and AI tools; Pattern or Case Manager Pro experience a plus.
• Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion and work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, organize and manage settlement-related documents and case management databases.
• Assist intake and evaluation of claims information using firm-approved tech (Excel, matter management systems).
• Collaborate with attorneys to ensure timely progress of settlement workflows and documentation.
• Conduct settlement-related research and draft correspondence or reports as needed.
• Coordinate settlement disbursement procedures and review settlement agreements for compliance.
