Job summary

Timberlab in Oregon is seeking an experienced EHS Leader to head regulatory compliance and environmental, health, and safety programs across timber processing operations in Philomath. You will develop policies aligned with DEQ/OSHA and ISO standards, manage permits, incidents, training, and audits, and lead continuous improvement to reduce risk and ensure worker safety and regulatory conformance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Health, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred.
• 5+ years of progressive EHS leadership experience, preferably in manufacturing or wood products, mass timber, or lumber operations; experience with wood dust, adhesives, coatings, or related chemical processes is a plus.
• Certifications: CSP, BCSE, or CIH preferred; OSHA 30/10, LEAN/6S, ISO 45001 beneficial.
• Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations; experience with permits, reporting, incident investigations, and training development.

Responsibilities

• Lead the site EHS team and EHS committees; delegate responsibilities while maintaining accountability.
• Develop and maintain site-wide EHS policies, procedures, and programs aligned with DEQ, OSHA, and ISO standards.
• Manage environmental permits, reporting, waste management, air and water compliance, and hazardous materials handling.
• Lead audits, inspections, corrective action planning, and tracking closure.
• Conduct safety trainings and toolbox talks; maintain training records.
• Coordinate safety and environmental considerations during timber processing and finishing processes to minimize risk.
