Job summary

Markent Personnel seeks a licensed Maryland attorney to manage active litigation matters, draft and file pleadings, and appear at hearings. The role requires strong negotiation and communication skills, plus the ability to collaborate with clients and opposing counsel.

You will handle case management, contribute to settlements, and support a professional, confidential client service environment. Travel within the region is expected where needed.

Qualifications

• Must be licensed to practice law in Maryland.
• Strong understanding of civil litigation, courtroom procedures, and case management.
• Ability to evaluate legal matters, develop resolution strategies, and negotiate settlements.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases, deadlines, and priorities.
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office and other technology in a professional legal environment.
• Ability to work independently while maintaining professionalism and client confidentiality.
• Experience in collections, creditors’ rights, debt recovery, or litigation is preferred, but training is available.

Responsibilities

• Handle negotiations and work toward resolution of active litigation matters.
• Draft, review, prepare, and file pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and other case-related documents.
• Appear at hearings and trials throughout the designated region with mileage and travel expenses reimbursed.
• Coordinate with internal team members, clients, and opposing counsel to move cases toward timely resolutions.
