Do it Best Group in Fort Wayne, IN is seeking a Marketing Strategy Intern for Summer 2027 to help develop a 2028 marketing plan. The role focuses on strengthening retailer understanding and engagement with the True Value brand, with paid hourly compensation.

The internship runs May 2027 through August 2027, requires local candidates, and may offer college credit. You will work under the Brand and Marketing Manager in Marketing/Brand Management with opportunities to present to leadership.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, Public Relations, or a related field
• Experience creating presentations or marketing content through coursework, internships, clubs, or personal projects
• Interest in retail, consumer marketing, branding, or business strategy

Responsibilities

• Create strategic recommendations to demonstrate value of True Value and Do it Best Group
• Develop communication materials (sizzle reels, one-pagers, podcasts, emails, paid ads) for retailers
• Conduct market and competitor research in independent home improvement and retail co-op landscape
• Evaluate competitor positioning, messaging, retailer programs, and recruitment strategies
• Provide recommendations for differentiation and competitive advantage
• Gather insights from marketing materials, retailer feedback, and industry trends
• Analyze opportunities to raise awareness and perception of the True Value brand
• Present findings and recommendations to marketing leadership
