Job summary

Ames Construction in Burnsville, MN is seeking a Marketing & Communications Specialist to organize and move marketing initiatives forward, combining strong project coordination with hands-on support across brand platforms and resources.

You will coordinate plans, assets, and communications with internal teams and vendors, maintain intranet content, and help create presentations, merchandise, and campaigns, while upholding accuracy and brand standards.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in communications, marketing, business, or project management.
• 2–4 years of experience in marketing, communications, or project coordination.
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills with attention to detail and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and proofreading abilities.
• Ability to own tasks, identify next steps, and move work forward.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with colleagues, leaders, and vendors.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint.
• Experience with Asana or similar PM tools; familiarity with SharePoint or DAM platforms is a plus.
• Comfort with learning new tech, systems, and processes.
• Proactive and collaborative approach; ability to handle confidential information.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Marketing & Communications planning calendar and support the team’s use of Asana, keeping priorities, dates, deliverables, and project information current.
• Serve as a project coordinator for assigned Marketing & Communications initiatives, helping develop timelines, coordinate contributors, track deliverables, and keep work moving.
• Help administer Ames' digital asset management (DAM) platform, including organization, tagging, version control, and accessibility, and assist coworkers in locating brand assets.
• Support the development and maintenance of intranet/SharePoint content and resources for Ames.
• Coordinate branded merchandise and materials with vendors and internal partners to improve offerings and brand experience.
• Provide proofreading, formatting, and quality control for communications and branded materials.
• Support the creation and adaptation of presentations, templates, and other branded materials as needed.
• Source and organize photography, video, graphics, and other assets for communications and creative projects.
• Assist with logistics and execution for campaigns, events, and other team initiatives.
• Support budget and vendor tracking related to projects, platforms, and programs.
