Job summary

Ames Construction is seeking a Marketing & Communications Specialist to join the Burnsville, MN team. The role combines project coordination with hands-on marketing support, ensuring planning calendars, brand assets, and resources stay organized and on track.

The ideal candidate will have 2–4 years in marketing/communications, strong writing and proofreading skills, and hands-on experience with Asana, SharePoint, and PowerPoint.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associate degree in Communications, Marketing, Business, Project Management, or related field; equivalent relevant experience considered.
• 2-4 years of experience in marketing, communications, project coordination, or related field.
• Strong organizational and project coordination skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, details, and deadlines.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to take ownership of assigned work, identify next steps, and proactively move work forward.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with coworkers, leaders, creative partners, and external vendors.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly PowerPoint.
• Experience with Asana or other project management platforms preferred; experience with digital asset management systems, SharePoint, or similar digital platforms is a plus.
• Comfortable learning new technology, systems, and processes.
• Proactive, resourceful, and collaborative approach.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Maintain the Marketing & Communications planning calendar and support the team's use of Asana, helping keep priorities, key dates, deliverables, and project information current and visible.
• Serve as a project coordinator for assigned Marketing & Communications initiatives, helping develop timelines, coordinate details and contributors, track deliverables and approvals, and keep work moving.
• Help administer Ames' digital asset management (DAM) platform, including asset organization, tagging, version control, and accessibility, and assist coworkers in locating and using brand assets.
• Support the development, publishing, and maintenance of select Ames intranet/SharePoint content and resources.
• Support the coordination and continued development of Ames-branded merchandise and materials, including apparel, promotional items, and print materials, coordinating with vendors and internal partners to improve offerings, processes, and the overall brand experience.
• Provide proofreading, formatting, and quality control support for communications and branded materials.
• Support the creation and adaptation of presentations, templates, and other branded materials as needed.
• Help source and organize photography, video, graphics, and other assets needed for communications, presentations, and creative projects.
• Support logistics and execution for Marketing & Communications campaigns, events, and other team initiatives.
• Support budget and vendor tracking related to assigned projects, platforms, and programs.
