About us:
We are a beauty company within the NYC metropolitan area, looking to add a Marketing Manager to our team, who will be responsible for leading the strategy, development, and execution of marketing initiatives across all digital and retail channels. This role will oversee the creation and optimization of performance-driven marketing campaigns to drive brand awareness, engagement, and conversion while ensuring consistency with business goals. The Director will collaborate with cross-functional departments and use data-driven insights to optimize the marketing spend for maximum ROI.
Key Responsibilities:
Performance Marketing Strategy:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive performance marketing strategy across digital and retail channels, aligned with the company's overall business objectives.
- Define clear performance goals and KPIs that drive measurable business results, ensuring alignment with broader brand and sales strategies.
- Continually optimize the strategy based on performance metrics, market trends, and evolving business priorities.
- Provide strategic direction and guidance on leveraging data analytics and performance insights to enhance campaign effectiveness.
- Lead the integration of performance marketing tactics with broader brand and trade marketing initiatives to ensure a seamless customer journey.
Campaign Development & Execution:
- Lead the creation and execution of highly impactful performance marketing campaigns across key digital and retail platforms, such as paid search, display ads, and retail media networks.
- Develop detailed campaign briefs, timelines, and budgets, ensuring clear communication and alignment between internal teams and external partners.
- Collaborate with creative and content teams to ensure campaign assets (e.g., ads, landing pages, emails) are optimized for performance and aligned with brand guidelines.
- Oversee the execution and daily optimization of campaigns, ensuring they meet performance benchmarks, budget goals, and deadlines.
- Ensure campaigns are data-driven, with continuous testing (e.g., A/B testing) and iteration to drive continuous performance improvements.
Paid Media Management:
- Oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of media campaigns across a variety of paid media platforms, including programmatic, social media, and retail media networks.
- Manage and optimize the performance of paid media efforts across major retail partners such as Target, Ulta, Nordstrom, and Macy’s.
- Guide the use of self-serve platforms like Criteo for strategic media buying and management, ensuring optimal use of budget and targeting.
- Drive innovations and improvements in media buying, leveraging emerging tools, channels, and technologies to maximize reach and return on investment (ROI).
- Monitor media performance daily, identify opportunities for optimization, and proactively adjust strategies to maximize efficiency and effectiveness.
- Work closely with account teams to ensure consistency and alignment between performance marketing and retail-specific marketing strategies.
- Provide data-driven insights and recommendations for improving brand visibility, distribution, and placement within key retail accounts.
- Design and execute promotional campaigns tailored to specific retailers, optimizing placement, offers, and messaging to maximize performance.
- Lead efforts to improve retailer relationships through transparent communication, performance reporting, and joint business planning.
- Align trade marketing and performance marketing activities to drive unified, strategic growth within retail environments.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
- Serve as the key liaison between marketing, sales, product, and eCommerce teams to ensure alignment on brand objectives, promotional priorities, and media strategies.
- Facilitate regular communication between cross-functional teams to ensure performance marketing campaigns are executed smoothly and meet business requirements.
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand customer needs and feedback, incorporating insights into campaign strategies and activation plans.
- Provide leadership and coordination across teams to execute integrated marketing campaigns that align with broader business objectives.
Budget Management & Optimization:
- Develop and manage the performance marketing budget, ensuring appropriate allocation of resources across key digital and retail channels.
- Regularly assess the effectiveness of spend and optimize campaigns in real-time to improve ROI while maintaining budget discipline.
- Work with finance and business leaders to align on spend forecasts, performance targets, and revenue projections.
- Track and report on performance against budget, identifying opportunities for cost-saving while achieving performance goals.
Data Analysis & Reporting:
- Utilize advanced analytics and reporting tools to measure the effectiveness of campaigns, providing clear insights and actionable recommendations to leadership.
- Develop robust reporting frameworks to track key metrics and assess the success of performance marketing efforts across all channels.
- Ensure timely and accurate reporting of performance to internal stakeholders, with a focus on ROI, engagement metrics, and customer acquisition.
- Leverage data from various sources (e.g., Google Analytics, media platforms, sales data) to identify trends, optimize campaigns, and forecast future performance.
- Conduct post-campaign analysis to evaluate performance, derive insights, and drive optimization in future initiatives.
- Stay ahead of the curve on new retail media platforms, digital marketing tools, and emerging trends that could benefit performance marketing strategies.
- Lead test-and-learn initiatives to explore new advertising formats, channels, and strategies for driving growth and enhancing brand presence.
- Identify and recommend emerging opportunities in the digital space (e.g., voice search, connected TV, influencer marketing) that could improve performance or provide competitive advantages.
- Evaluate new channels and platforms for testing, reporting results, and recommending strategies to scale successful initiatives.
Brand Awareness & Media Vision:
- Develop and champion a comprehensive media vision that goes beyond immediate sales conversion, focusing on building long-term brand awareness and loyalty.
- Ensure all media efforts, including paid search and display advertising, are aligned with the broader brand identity and contribute to brand equity growth.
- Define and implement strategies that elevate brand visibility within key retail environments, ensuring consistency and prominence of brand assets in-store and online.
- Collaborate with brand marketing and creative teams to ensure consistent messaging, tone, and visual identity across all performance marketing campaigns.
Market Research & Competitive Analysis:
- Conduct ongoing market research to identify consumer trends, competitive activities, and emerging market opportunities.
- Use insights from market research and consumer behavior analysis to inform campaign targeting, messaging, and channel selection.
- Regularly benchmark performance against competitors to identify areas of opportunity and potential gaps in strategy.
Performance Measurement & ROI Analysis:
- Establish performance measurement frameworks to assess the effectiveness of media spending and marketing activities across all channels.
- Collaborate with sales and business units to track campaign outcomes and ensure media investments are directly contributing to total brand growth and sales.
- Provide strategic recommendations based on ROI analysis to guide decision-making and ensure the optimal allocation of marketing resources.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in marketing, performance marketing, paid media or growth marketing.
- Bachelor’s in marketing or similar experience.
- Prior experience in the beauty industry or retail is a plus.
- Proven experience in developing and executing marketing strategies.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive actionable insights from customer data.
- Excellent skills in market research, competitive analysis, and data interpretation
- Experience with marketing automation and CRM tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Proven ability to lead a team and manage projects effectively.
