Job summary

Ideal Contracting, a leading Midwest construction company based in Detroit, seeks a Marketing Assistant to support the Director of Marketing and a larger team. You will coordinate events, assist with business development efforts, maintain files, and help manage the Build U internship program.

You must be organized, dependable, and able to juggle multiple projects while communicating effectively with colleagues at all levels.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of administrative, marketing support, event coordination, or related experience preferred.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to maintain organized files, records, calendars, and tracking documents.
• Comfortable coordinating with employees at all levels of an organization.
• Experience with Adobe Acrobat, or other design/document tools, is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Support the Director of Marketing in planning and executing company events, meetings, retreats, celebrations, and other internal initiatives.
• Coordinate event logistics, including venues, catering, supplies, signage, registration, name badges, promotional materials, and other details.
• Communicate with vendors and internal stakeholders to coordinate event needs.
• Maintain event checklists, timelines, budgets, and other planning documents.
• Work with the marketing team to prepare presentation materials and meeting resources.
• Provide on-site support during events when needed.
• Assist with post-event follow-up and organization of event materials.
