Summary
The Local Officer Marketing & Communications for North America position with a focus on events & fairs for the business stream Products is part of the regional M&C team for NAM/SAM (North and South America). The position is managed on a disciplinary basis by the Senior Regional Manager M&C NAM/SAM who has reports directly to the global office Marketing & Communications based in Cologne, Germany.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The role will be responsible for executing local marketing activities to drive business success as well as for managing events and fairs (including on-site management), mainly for the business stream Products.
Events & Fairs:
- ■ Planning, implementing and following up on events and trade fair projects in line with quality, budget and time requirements.
- ■ This includes project management, developing creative concepts, coordinating internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring excellent customer service. The focus is on providing expert advice, communicating efficiently and continuously optimizing processes.
- ■ Project management: involves planning, management and controlling of projects, time and budget plans, maintaining continuous communication with stakeholders, monitoring and providing effective follow-up (internal accounting, etc.)
- ■ Taking responsibility for and managing regional and local projects, primarily in North America, as well as supporting other departments (e.g. coordination, remote organization and support).
- ■ Ensuring excellent customer service by understanding the needs of internal customers and upstream units, providing expert advice and developing and maintaining internal customer relationships.
- ■ Developing clear and actionable recommendations and ensuring that relevant decision-makers have the right information to make efficient (strategic) decisions.
- ■ Coordinating internal and external services and preparing briefings for external service providers for large events
- ■ Creating and maintaining trade fair and event guidelines and developing and sharing best practices/tools (e.g. event/trade fair toolkit, checklist, infrastructure).
- ■ Development and presentation of event/trade fair concepts (presence, hybrid and digital), responsibility for creating print and A/V content/assets with external service providers or internal units.
- ■ Management and coordination of internal projects, such as the coordination of event equipment.
Marketing activities:
- ■ Execute the local marketing strategy in line with the global and regional marketing strategies, working closely with the regional Go-to-Market Managers for the businesses
- ■ Act as the business’s extended arm, responsible for excellent local marketing execution and management of locally operating business streams, driving lead generation and business growth, always closely aligned with the Senior Regional Manager M&C NAM/SAM and the Go-to-Market Managers for NAM.
- ■ Support, execute and manage local marketing activities (digital marketing activities, events, tradeshows, webinars, campaigns, etc.), including adapting global/regional content and creating assets that are relevant to customers at all touchpoints and KPIs.
- ■ Liaise and coordinate with all local and regional stakeholders, including regional sales managers, local field managers and country managers.
- ■ Set up and execute campaigns, tracking leads using marketing automation tools
- ■ Perform ongoing analysis of the performance of marketing activities and optimize them.
- ■ Use defined platforms to create content, and plan and execute communication activities (e.g. Social Media, PR, Youtube, publications)
- ■ Creation and distribution of local communication content
- ■ Support local communication, in adherence to local communication governance, continuously developing of communication skills. Adapt the regional communication strategy to create a local communication strategy in alignment with the Senior Regional Manager M&C NAM/SAM, the Go-to-Market Managers and the regional communication experts.
Qualification Requirements
- ■ Minimum of 3 years' marketing experience, ideally B2B in a Group
- ■ Excellent English skills (writing and speaking, C1), other languages an advantage
- ■ Good knowledge and experience of inbound and performance marketing as well as SEM, SEO and social media/mechanisms
- ■ Excellent proven communication, project management, presentation and self-motivation skills, and attention to detail, high quality awareness
- ■ Networker with the ability to communicate and work with all the levels of an organization comfortably by having excellent people skills and the ability to set priorities, problem-solve and work well independently in a dynamic, rapidly changing workplace
- ■ Strong experience with marketing automation (such as Eloqua, Salesforce…) as well as MS Office
- ■ Above-average commitment, resilience, a high degree of flexibility and a hands-on mentality
- ■ Must be business/customer-focused and have the ability to translate business goals to marketing and communications strategies
- ■ Ability to work at both strategic and tactical levels – hands on team player
- ■ Solid knowledge in creative tools like Adobe
- ■ Willingness to travel
Education
- ■ Degree or equivalent professional qualification in marketing as well as event/hospitality management or a comparable field
