My client is a rapidly growing, private equity-backed residential services platform with a strong presence across multiple markets in the United States. Through a combination of organic growth and strategic acquisitions, the company has built a portfolio of established local brands and is continuing to expand its geographic footprint.
With significant momentum, a proven business model, and an experienced leadership team, my client is entering an exciting phase of growth and is seeking a results-oriented Director of Performance Marketing to help accelerate customer acquisition, optimize marketing investments, and drive measurable revenue growth.
This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on marketing leader to take ownership of a critical function, work directly with senior leadership, and play an instrumental role in shaping the company's next phase of growth.
The Opportunity:
My client is seeking an analytical, commercially minded Director of Performance Marketing who understands that successful marketing is measured not simply by clicks, impressions, or lead volume, but by customer acquisition, conversion, revenue generation, and return on investment.
This individual will be responsible for overseeing and optimizing performance marketing initiatives across multiple brands and geographic markets, ensuring that marketing investments translate into measurable business results.
The ideal candidate combines deep expertise in digital customer acquisition with a strong understanding of the relationship between marketing and sales. They will be equally comfortable analyzing campaign performance, managing agency partners, identifying opportunities to improve lead conversion, and collaborating with operational leaders to drive growth.
This is a highly visible, hands-on position best suited for someone who thrives in an entrepreneurial, fast-paced environment and enjoys both developing strategy and executing against it.
Key Responsibilities
Performance Marketing & Customer Acquisition
- Own and optimize performance marketing strategies across multiple brands and geographic markets, with a focus on generating high-quality leads and acquiring profitable customers.
- Oversee paid digital acquisition channels, including Google Ads, Google Local Services Ads (LSA), paid search, and other relevant lead generation platforms.
- Develop and optimize local search strategies, including Google Business Profiles, SEO, and location-specific marketing initiatives.
- Monitor campaign performance, identify optimization opportunities, and continuously improve marketing efficiency and effectiveness.
- Allocate marketing investments across brands and markets based on performance, customer demand, operational capacity, and revenue opportunities.
- Evaluate additional marketing channels and local market initiatives based on their ability to generate measurable returns.
Marketing Analytics & Revenue Optimization
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators, including customer acquisition cost (CAC), customer lifetime value (LTV), return on ad spend (ROAS), cost per qualified lead, conversion rates, and revenue attribution.
- Analyze marketing performance on a daily basis, conducting deeper weekly reviews to evaluate campaign effectiveness and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop actionable reporting and dashboards that provide visibility into marketing performance across brands, channels, and markets.
- Evaluate the quality of incoming leads, distinguishing new customer acquisition opportunities from existing customer inquiries.
- Partner with leadership to ensure marketing investments are aligned with revenue growth, profitability, and customer acquisition objectives.
- Identify opportunities to strengthen lead tracking, attribution, reporting, and overall marketing infrastructure.
- Work closely with sales leadership to optimize the entire customer acquisition funnel, from initial lead generation through conversion and revenue realization.
- Monitor lead conversion trends and collaborate with sales teams to identify and address performance gaps.
- Make informed recommendations regarding marketing spend based on sales conversion rates, operational capacity, and market-level performance.
- Help improve lead capture, lead management, and marketing-to-sales handoff processes.
- Partner with operational leaders to understand local market dynamics, service demand, seasonality, and customer acquisition opportunities.
- Ensure marketing and sales operate as integrated functions with shared accountability for business outcomes.
Agency & Marketing Operations Management
- Manage external marketing agencies and service providers, establishing clear performance expectations and accountability for results.
- Evaluate agency effectiveness and identify opportunities to improve execution, efficiency, and return on investment.
- Serve as the internal subject matter expert on performance marketing strategy, execution, and analytics.
- Help build scalable marketing processes, reporting capabilities, and infrastructure to support continued expansion.
- Assess opportunities to bring selected marketing capabilities in-house as the organization grows.
Qualifications & Experience
- Approximately 5–10+ years of progressive experience in performance marketing, digital acquisition, growth marketing, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated success driving measurable customer acquisition and revenue growth through performance-based marketing initiatives.
- Strong expertise in Google Ads, paid search, Google Local Services Ads, Google Business Profiles, and local SEO.
- Experience within residential services, home services, or another multi-location, lead-generation-driven business model is strongly preferred.
- Proven ability to manage marketing budgets, optimize channel performance, and demonstrate measurable ROI.
- Strong analytical capabilities and fluency in marketing and sales performance metrics, including CAC, LTV, ROAS, lead conversion, and revenue attribution.
- Experience managing external agencies while maintaining direct accountability for marketing performance.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with sales, finance, and operations leadership.
- Experience operating in a lean, entrepreneurial, or rapidly growing organization where individuals are expected to be both strategic and hands‑on.
- Familiarity with CRM platforms, lead management systems, marketing analytics, and attribution tools.
- Experience supporting multiple brands, locations, or geographic markets is highly desirable.
- Exposure to private equity‑backed businesses, acquisition‑driven growth, or multi‑brand platforms is a plus.
The successful candidate will be:
- Commercially minded: Understands that the ultimate objective of marketing is profitable customer acquisition and revenue growth.
- Analytical and data-driven: Uses performance metrics to guide decisions and continuously improve outcomes.
- Hands‑on and resourceful: Comfortable rolling up their sleeves, solving problems, and operating without a large internal marketing team.
- Collaborative: Views sales and marketing as interconnected functions and takes ownership of results across the entire customer acquisition funnel.
- Accountable: Focused on measurable outcomes rather than activity‑based marketing metrics.
- Entrepreneurial: Energized by the pace, ambiguity, and opportunity associated with a rapidly growing business.
- Adaptable: Able to balance strategic priorities with day‑to‑day execution in a dynamic, multi‑location environment.
