Job Description Summary

The Marketing Database Analyst plays a key role in delivering actionable insights and business intelligence to support data driven decision making across Sonesta's marketing initiatives. This role will help optimize hotel revenue performance and deepen engagement with high-value guest segments through advanced analysis of internal and external data sources. The ideal candidate will contribute to the development of innovative marketing strategies and major program enhancements, while also leading the refinement and adoption of key performance indicator (KPI) dashboards to improve internal reporting and decision-making efficiency.

This role is based in our Newton, MA Headquarters 3 days onsite and 2 days remote.

Job Description

Responsibilities

• Utilize data to conduct insightful analyses on marketing initiatives, operational trends, challenges, and opportunities
• Perform ad hoc analysis and data modeling to support strategic initiatives
• Develop and maintain dashboards, reports, and visualizations using tools like Tableau, Power BI, or similar platforms.
• Create data models and generate forecasts using historical data to inform business strategies.
• Analyze promotion results and use data to develop strategies for improved success
• Analyze complex business problems using data from internal and external sources to provide insight/develop strategy and present to decisionmakers
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to understand their data needs and deliver actionable insights.
• Ensure data integrity and perform regular audits on databases and reports.
• Assist in automating data collection and reporting processes to increase efficiency.

Data Analyst Requirements

• 1-5 years of experience in marketing, strategy, data analytics, or similar analytical role
• Proficiency in SQL for querying and manipulating large datasets.
• Knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables, and formulas
• Tableau report development experience preferred
• Experience collaborating with cross functional teams a plus
• Strong problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, writing and presentation skills with the ability to communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences

Additional Job Information/Anticipated

Pay Range

Pay range: $75,000 to $85,000. Base pay offer may vary depending on various factors, including but not limited to job related knowledge, skills and job specific/overall experience.
