Database Programmer Analyst, Advance Program Services

Join to apply for the Database Programmer Analyst, Advance Program Services role at MIT Alumni Association.

The DATABASE PROGRAMMER ANALYST, ADVANCEMENT PROGRAM SERVICES (APS), within Alumni Association Technology Services and Initiatives (TSI), provides programming and data analysis support through MIT's enterprise alumni and donor biographical and gift record system, Ellucian Advance, an Oracle DBMS, along with various reporting systems. Responsibilities include developing reports, report infrastructures, database modules, and data maintenance routines. The role involves fulfilling data and analysis requests from alumni relations and strategic marketing teams, interacting with stakeholders, serving on cross-functional project teams, maintaining and enhancing existing systems, and developing new applications by writing or modifying code.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Math, or a related field; at least five years of programming experience; experience with Oracle or similar DBMS; proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, or similar languages; experience with Crystal Reports, Cognos, and enterprise reporting software; fluency in Microsoft Office; strong communication skills; ability to understand business needs and translate them into technical solutions; project management skills; attention to detail; discretion with confidential data; ability to work independently and collaboratively; and flexibility to work occasional evenings, early mornings, or weekends.

PREFERRED: Project management experience in academia; familiarity with Ellucian Advance Web, Salesforce CRM, Salesforce Marketing Cloud, Tableau; knowledge of the advancement discipline.

This is a hybrid position with on-campus and remote work options. Employment is contingent upon a satisfactory background check.
