Job summary

OnePay is seeking a Marketing Counsel to act as a strategic legal partner to its fast-growing marketing organization, turning ambitious go-to-market ideas into compliant, defensible launches. You will advise across the marketing lifecycle with marketing, brand, design, paid media, and product teams.

You will draft and negotiate a wide range of agreements, guide ad tech and privacy, and ensure disclosures and claims are accurate, while leveraging AI tools to accelerate workflows.

Qualifications

• J.D. and active membership in good standing with a U.S. state bar.
• 8+ years of legal experience, including at a leading law firm and/or in-house, with at least 6 years focused on marketing, advertising, and/or ad tech law.
• Strong drafting and negotiation skills across agency, vendor, talent, and marketing-partnership agreements.
• Deep knowledge of FTC Act, UDAAP, endorsements, influencer rules, and advertising privacy (CCPA/CPRA).
• Ability to influence senior leadership and communicate clearly at C-suite level.
• Proficiency with AI tooling to accelerate contract review and workflows.

Responsibilities

• Advise across the marketing lifecycle as the primary legal partner to marketing, brand, design, paid media, and product teams.
• Draft and negotiate agreements for campaigns, partnerships, creators, and vendors.
• Guide advertising tech, privacy, disclosures, and data usage compliance.
• Review rewards programs, promotions, and influencer brand collaborations with proper disclosures.
• Structure and paper affiliate and partner-marketing programs and official rules.
• Support production, contents development, rights clearances, and talent releases.
• Collaborate on claim development, substantiation, and marketing disclosures.
• Scale with AI tools to improve workflow efficiency while maintaining controls.
