Job summary

ThoughtCraft Architects seeks a Marketing Coordinator to tell stories that support Durham, NC and Somerville, MA offices. You’ll craft client-focused proposals, marketing materials, and digital content while collaborating with design teams and leadership.

The role emphasizes strong writing, organization, and proactive problem-solving in a fast-paced, creative environment. Travel between offices may occur as needed.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 1–2 years of marketing experience in architecture, engineering, design, or professional services preferred.
  • Excellent writing, editing and proofreading skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration with technical and creative professionals.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Canva or similar design software preferred.
  • Experience with CRM systems, email marketing platforms, and social media management tools.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate development of proposals, qualifications packages, presentations, and interview materials for both Durham and Boston offices.
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, and leadership to gather information and create client-focused proposals.
  • Manage proposal schedules, deadlines, submission requirements, and production.
  • Research project opportunities and support business development initiatives.
  • Maintain marketing databases, CRM information, project profiles, and client records.
  • Develop and update project sheets, resumes, award submissions, and marketing collateral.
  • Assist with newsletters, project announcements, press releases, and thought leadership content.
  • Ensure materials align with brand standards, voice, and design quality.
  • Help manage website, blog, LinkedIn, and other digital channels.
  • Create and schedule content highlighting projects, people, culture, and insights.
  • Monitor metrics and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Maintain marketing assets, photography, testimonials, and resumes.
  • Organize marketing systems for accuracy and accessibility.
  • Support award submissions and industry recognition opportunities.
  • Assist with planning client events, industry conferences, and networking.

We're seeking a Marketing Coordinator to help tell those stories to support both our Durham NC and Somerville MA offices.

This is an exciting opportunity for a creative, organized, and detail-oriented marketing professional who enjoys both strategy and execution. You'll work closely with our principals and design teams to support business development efforts, create compelling marketing materials, manage proposals and qualifications, and help communicate the ThoughtCraft story across multiple platforms.

The ideal candidate is a strong writer, collaborative team player, and proactive problem-solver who thrives in a creative, fast-paced environment and has a passion for design, storytelling, and relationship-building.

What You'll Do
Proposal & Business Development Support
  • Coordinate the development of all proposals, qualifications packages, presentations, and interview materials in both the Durham NC and Boston MA offices.
  • Collaborate with architects, designers, and firm leadership to gather information and create compelling, client-focused proposals and content.
  • Manage proposal schedules, deadlines, submission requirements, and production.
  • Research project opportunities, track pursuits, and support ongoing business development initiatives.
  • Maintain marketing databases, systems, CRM information, project profiles, and client records.
Marketing & Communications
  • Develop and update project sheets, staff resumes, award submissions, qualifications materials, and other marketing collateral.
  • Assist with content creation for newsletters, project announcements, press releases, and thought leadership pieces.
  • Ensure all materials align with the firm's brand standards, voice, and design quality.
Digital Marketing & Social Media
  • Help manage and maintain the firm's website, blog, LinkedIn presence, and other digital channels.
  • Create and schedule engaging content highlighting projects, people, firm culture, and industry insights.
  • Monitor performance metrics and provide recommendations for ongoing improvement.
Marketing Resource Management
  • Maintain project photography, client testimonials, project descriptions, resumes, and marketing assets.
  • Organize and update marketing systems to ensure information is accurate, accessible, and current.
  • Support the preparation of award submissions and industry recognition opportunities.
Events & Industry Engagement
  • Assist with planning and coordination of client events, industry conferences, networking opportunities, and community engagement activities.
  • Support ThoughtCraft's involvement in professional organizations and industry associations.
  • Attend networking events as appropriate and as needed
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of marketing experience, preferably within architecture, engineering, construction, design, or another professional services industry (we will consider new grads with marketing internship experience)
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
  • Strong organizational and project management abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with technical and creative professionals.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
  • Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, InDesign, Canva, or similar design software preferred.
  • Experience with CRM systems, email marketing platforms, and social media management tools is a plus.
  • Familiar with the proposal process and AEC industry marketing is preferred.
