Job summary

Sol Systems in Washington, DC, is seeking a Manager of Marketing & Communications to lead strategy, manage campaigns, and drive thought leadership. This hybrid, full-time role reports to the VP, Impact, Brand and Communications, and involves in-house AI-assisted content creation and end-to-end event planning.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in marketing communications, strong writing and design skills, and experience with PR/media engagement. Base salary ranges $90,000–$120,000.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, Public Relations, Writing, or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in marketing communications with strong writing and hands-on design, events, and execution.
• Experience at a marketing or PR firm with clean energy client work is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement comprehensive marketing and communications strategies.
• Produce in-house creative, design, and content materials using AI-assisted tools.
• Lead planning and execution of email, web, and print campaigns.
• Create high-quality written materials for publications and stakeholder communications.
• Manage and distribute marketing collateral and website content with consistent visuals.
• Write and publish engaging social media content with a content calendar.
• Develop press releases, manage media relations and media lists.
• Oversee Digital Asset Management and coordinate with external partners.
• Plan and execute conferences and events, including logistics and budgets.
• Pursue speaking engagements for executive leadership and support thought leadership.
• Handle daily administrative tasks and cross-team data management.
