The internship is a 12-month, full-time program divided into two phases: six months at SACC-DC and a six-month part-time arrangement shared between the SACC DC office and a SACC DC Member organization. This setup enables the intern to gain extensive experience in both the nonprofit and commercial sectors throughout their year in DC. Previous interns have been placed at companies such as Ericsson, Volvo Cars, AstraZeneca, Axis Communications, SAAB North America, Haypp Group, Pillsbury and Skanska.
Phase 2 of the internship is paid, and the intern receives a funding secured through the Lars Bjerde Fund, which honors the late Lars Bjerde, former VP of SAAB North America and one of the founders of SACC DC.
Washington, D.C., is a vibrant city and international hub. SACC DC works at the intersection of politics and business. It is part of a dynamic team at the House of Sweden on the Georgetown waterfront. The Swedish Embassy, SACC USA, and several Swedish companies share facilities with us.
After finishing their internship at SACC DC, the intern will have acquired practical experience and built a wide network to advance their international careers.
PLEASE NOTE: While candidates are welcome to apply for multiple positions at SACC, it's important to highlight that accepting an offered position and subsequently accepting a second position at SACC is not allowed. Doing so will result in disqualification from both positions.
DEADLINE: The application deadline is September 30. Recruitment is conducted on a rolling basis, and early submission is therefore strongly encouraged. Should any positions remain unfilled, a second application round may be opened in October.
This is a 12-month internship starting in January of 2027. As an Intern abroad, you can apply for scholarships.
