You will manage editorial calendars, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and help keep the website and intranet up to date with fresh content. Strong writing, research, and AP Style proficiency are required, with up to 25% travel possible.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience with a strong background in writing and research.
• Experience writing for marketing content, press releases, blog posts, newsletters, and social media.
• Proficiency in AP style and high attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and proofread content for internal and external communications, including press releases, blog posts, newsletters, social media updates, and marketing materials.
• Assist in managing the editorial calendar, ensuring deadlines are met and content is aligned with strategic goals.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure messaging consistency across platforms.
• Help maintain and update the company website and intranet with fresh content.
• Support the creation of presentations, reports, and other communication materials as needed.
• Conduct research to support content development and identify industry trends.

Altec, Inc. is currently seeking a highly motivated Copywriter to join our dynamic team in Birmingham, AL (Corporate Office). This pivotal role involves a broad range of responsibilities designed to drive our marketing efforts to new heights. The successful candidate will be responsible for writing and editing copy for a variety of marketing content, both internal and external. This role requires a motivated individual with strong attention to detail, versatile writing style and a collaborative approach.

Altec specializes in the manufacture, sale, and service of aerial devices, digger derricks, cranes, and specialty equipment for the electric utility, telecommunications, tree care, construction, and light and sign maintenance industries. Our products and services support customers in more than 120 countries around the world.

Primary Responsibilities

• Write, edit, and proofread content for internal and external communications, including press releases, blog posts, newsletters, social media updates, and marketing materials.
• Assist in managing the editorial calendar, ensuring deadlines are met and content is aligned with strategic goals.

Education, Experience, and Skills Required:

• Industry knowledge, preferred and
  • Bachelor's degree in applicable field preferred, or
  • 7 years applicable experience, or
  • 6 years applicable experience with at least 2 years Altec experience
• Strong writing and research skills
• Social Media experience preferred
• Proficiency in AP Style
• Some travel up to 25% may be required
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and project management tools.
• Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
• Knowledge of marketing principles and practices.
