Leveraging the success of the “Great University Campaign,” the largest and most successful in USM’s history, the University of Southern Maine Foundation is now seeking an experienced Marketing and Content Specialist to help set the stage for our next ambitious chapter. The successful specialist will be expected to augment our new Communications team by managing a marketing suite that informs, engages, surprises and delights all Foundation audiences. Their work will help our team grow the number of donors, deepen their relationship with the Foundation and USM, and ensure their continued support of the University and its philanthropic priorities. This is an exciting and entrepreneurial role, and the ideal candidate is an energetic, organized and creative professional prepared to infuse new ideas into the Foundation’s communications strategy.
The mission of the USM Foundation is to serve as a catalyst for transformation at the University of Southern Maine. The Foundation is pursuing new and innovative ways to strengthen scholarship programs, raise capital and achieve ambitious goals, as we help to fuel transformation at the University of Southern Maine. The Foundation employs an experienced and resourceful team dedicated to supporting the success of the University and its students. The Foundation is an independent, nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization governed by a Board of Directors, which has full responsibility for the Foundation’s strategic direction and advancement efforts.

Salary Range: $50,000 to $52,000, depending on experience

Summary: The Marketing and Content Specialist manages the USM Foundation’s communications channels while creating email, print, social media, and light video content to help strengthen the Foundation’s relationships and USM’s reputation with alumni, donors and key stakeholders. The Specialist also provides targeted administrative and communications support to the Foundation’s Engagement Team. Duties and responsibilities include the following:
Content Marketing – (80%)
Engagement Team Support – (20%)
Bachelor’s degree preferred and a minimum of two years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
