Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess daily market risk across power trading portfolios (ISO markets, bilateral, options, etc.).
• Identify and explain key risk drivers and P&L movements, providing insight into portfolio exposures.
• Collaborate with traders and quants to understand and validate trading strategies and risk models.
• Develop and enhance risk reports, stress testing, and scenario analysis tools.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of risk frameworks, analytics, and data quality.

Must haves:

• 2+ years of experience in market risk, trade support, P&L, or quantitative analysis within a power trading environment.
• Strong knowledge of North American power markets (e.g., ERCOT, PJM, CAISO).
• Solid quantitative and analytical skills; proficiency in Python, SQL, or Excel VBA preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative or finance-related field (Engineering, Economics, Math, Finance)
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work closely with both technical and commercial teams.
• Self-starter with a proactive mindset and curiosity about markets.
• Strong commercial instincts and ability to think like a trader.
• Interest in eventually transitioning into a front office trading or quant role.
