Primary Purpose

Responsible for developing and performing a broad spectrum of quantitative analyses in support of Sempra Infrastructure risk management group overseeing the wholesale trading functions.

Responsibilities

• Manage and perform processes, models, and data used to calculate risk and position metrics, and prepare reports.
• Serve as risk management contact for trade capture system maintenance.
• Support risk management and product structuring through analysis and modeling.
• Monitor risk limits and notify relevant parties of breaches.
• Review reports and models for quality assurance.
• Collaborate with IT, Back Office, Credit, Traders, and Schedulers to resolve issues.
• Perform other duties as assigned (up to 5%).

Requirements

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a quantitative field from a top-tier program.
• 5+ years of trading, structuring, or quantitative analysis experience in energy or financial markets.
• Strong understanding of abstract theory and practical application.
• Knowledge of VaR, options valuation, and risk management methodologies.
• Familiarity with commodities markets, especially natural gas.
• Proficiency in Excel and industry fundamentals.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Knowledge of OpenLink is a plus.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in a relevant quantitative field.
• Experience in energy or commodity industry.
