Queen Bee’s Knees Radio in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula is seeking a Market Manager to lead our Houghton and Iron River cluster. This on‑site role combines general management leadership with a personal sales list and accountability for market revenue.

The ideal candidate will own market health, coach a sales team, and represent Morgan Murphy Media’s community‑first values while driving revenue across broadcast, digital, and event products.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of broadcast or media sales with a proven revenue track record.
• 2+ years of leadership, sales management, or general management experience.
• Strong coaching and people‑development skills; recruit, motivate, and retain talent in a small‑market setting.
• Business and financial acumen: owning a budget, forecasting, and reading performance reports.
• Working knowledge of digital marketing products and the ability to sell integrated broadcast + digital solutions.

Responsibilities

• Own the market's revenue, expense management, staffing, morale, and community reputation for Houghton and Iron River.
• Lead day‑to‑day market staff across sales, programming/on‑air talent, promotions, traffic, and support functions.
• Build, develop, and retain a high‑performing team; recruit and onboard new hires in compliance with company procedures.
• Set clear goals and conduct regular coaching, reviews, and accountability conversations.
• Partner with Engineering, IT, Programming, HR, and Finance to keep facilities, systems, and compliance current.
• Serve as the senior market representative with clients, community organizations, civic leaders, and local media.
• Uphold FCC compliance, including public‑file maintenance, EEO, and station operating rules.
• Manage and report on the market’s budget, forecasts, and operating results to the VP of Radio.
• Carry a personal list of key accounts and lead prospecting, presenting, closing, and servicing direct and agency business.
• Drive revenue across broadcast, digital, and event/sponsorship products.
• Recruit, train, coach, and manage account executives; set sales goals and cadence.
• Review billing and pipeline; ensure performance standards and growth of territories.
