Job summary

Greers Market is seeking a Market Manager to oversee the department, maintain order controls and gross margin, and coordinate promotional orders. You will train staff, manage pricing on ads, and ensure inventory turnover meets targets.

You will also handle special promotions, solve problems, build customer relationships, and oversee daily duties of department employees, with supervision as needed. This role focuses on profitability, product knowledge, and presentation standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain order controls for the department
• Responsible for gross margin controls
• Evaluate department performance and problem-solve
• Assist in special bookings and orders of promotional and seasonal items
• Train personnel in product knowledge and presentation
• Ensure guaranteed pricing for ad items or sale items is applied
• Develop customer relationships through employee training
• Maintain required inventory turnover within the department
• Exercise technical knowledge when product integrity is in question
• Participate in special in-store promotions as needed
• Ensure productivity levels and control expenses within required levels
• Responsible for APC (ad profit controls)
• Coordinate and train all daily duties of other department employees either personally or with technician support

• RESPONSIBLE FOR GROSS MARGIN CONTROLS

• RESPONSIBLE FOR EVALUATING DEPARTMENT AND PROBLEM SOLVING

• HANDLES OR ASSISTS IN SPECIAL BOOKINGS AND ORDERS OF PROMOTIONAL AND SEASONAL ITEMS

• TRAINS PERSONELL IN THE AREAS OF PRODUCT KNOWLEDGE AND PRESENTATION

• ACTS TO ENSURE THAT ALL GUARANTEED PRICING OF AD ITEMS OR SPECIAL SALE ITEMS ARE RECEIVED

• DEVELOPS CUSTOMER RELATIONSHIPS AND CONFIDENCE THROUGH PROPER EMPLOYEE TRAINING

• RESPONSIBLE FOR REQUIRED INVENTORY TURN WITHIN THE DEPT.

• EXERCISES TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE WHEN PRODUCT INTEGRITY IS IN QUESTION

• ASSISTS IN SPECIAL IN-STORE PROMOTIONS AS NEEDED

• INSURES PERFORMANCE LEVEL REQUIREMENTS (PRODUCTIVITY)

• INSURES THAT CONTROLABLE EXPENSES ARE WITIN THE REQUIRED LEVEL

• RESPONSIBLE FOR APC (AD PROFIT CONTROLS)

• RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TRAINING AND COORDINATION OF ALL DAILY DUTIES OF OTHER MET DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES EITHER PERSONALLY OR BY MAKING SURE TECH HELP IS PROVIDED.
