Job summary

JMC in Boston, MA is seeking a reliable maintenance technician to care for our property. You’ll handle daily maintenance requests, repair doors, locks, tiles, and fixtures, and coordinate with outside contractors to keep the building in top condition.

You’ll also perform routine cosmetic updates to maintain a welcoming space for residents. We offer $26.50–$29.50 per hour, a $2,500 sign-on bonus, and benefits including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, paid time off, and a 401(k) match.

Qualifications

• 6 months+ of trade experience or building maintenance
• Working knowledge of equipment to repair the property, including electrical and mechanical systems
• Love fixing things and making spaces more pleasing for occupants
• Ability to identify and resolve safety concerns
• Specialized trade experience in plumbing, electrical, roofing, or HVAC is a plus

We're looking for a trustworthy technician to maintain the physical condition of one of our properties. As part of the Maintenance team, you'll help with the requests that come in each day pertaining to the more technical side of the building- like appliance maintenance, smoke detector installations, and light fixture removals. We love to keep our buildings looking beautiful, so you'll also be responsible for routine cosmetic updates - such as painting, changing screens, and replacing windows.

What you’ll do:

• Execute daily maintenance requests professionally and expediently.
• Remain at the ready for emergency maintenance needs, emergency flood situations, and back-to-back move-ins.
• Make repairs in the building to things like doors, locks, tiles, and handrails.
• Monitor and work closely with outside contractors and suppliers.
• Maintain paperwork and invoices related to your work.

What we’re looking for:

• 6 months+ of trade experience or building maintenance
• You have a working knowledge of the equipment needed to make repairs on the property, including electrical and mechanical systems.
• Essentially, you love fixing things, making spaces more pleasing for the people who inhabit them, and you’re always ready to lend a helping hand even in high‑stress situations.
• You’re great at identifying safety concerns and solving them.
• As a plus, you have specialized trade experience in plumbing, electrical, roofing, or HVAC.

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. On‑call rotation required.

The posted salary range represents the full range of experience levels for the position. Candidates with extensive relevant experience (i.e. 20+ years) may qualify for compensation near the top of the range, while those with less experience may fall at another point within the range.
