Job summary

John M. Corcoran & Company seeks a dependable Maintenance Technician to service a property and ensure daily upkeep. You will handle appliance maintenance, smoke detector installations, lighting fixture work, and cosmetic updates like painting and window replacements.

The position covers properties south of Boston as needed and requires a hands-on, safety-minded approach in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 6 months+ of trade experience or building maintenance.
• Working knowledge of electrical and mechanical systems.
• Identifying safety concerns and solving them.
• Specialized trade experience in plumbing, electrical, roofing, or HVAC is a plus.

We’re looking for a trustworthy technician to maintain the physical condition of one of our properties. As part of the Maintenance team, you’ll help with the requests that come in each day pertaining to the more technical side of the building—like appliance maintenance, smoke detector installations, and light fixture removals. We love to keep our buildings looking beautiful, so you’ll also be responsible for routine cosmetic updates—such as painting, changing screens, and replacing windows. This role floats to properties south of Boston based on need.

What You’ll Do

• Execute daily maintenance requests professionally and expediently.
• Remain at the ready for emergency maintenance needs, emergency flood situations, and back-to-back move-ins.
• Make repairs in the building to things like doors, locks, tiles, and handrails.
• Monitor and work closely with outside contractors and suppliers.
• Maintain paperwork and invoices related to your work.

What We’re Looking For

• 6 months+ of trade experience or building maintenance
• You have a working knowledge of the equipment needed to make repairs on the property, including electrical and mechanical systems.
• Essentially, you love fixing things, making spaces more pleasing for the people who inhabit them, and you’re always ready to lend a helping hand even in high-stress situations.
• You’re great at identifying safety concerns and solving them.
• As a plus, you have specialized trade experience in plumbing, electrical, roofing, or HVAC.

Work Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. On-call rotation required.

Position pay range

$26.75 - $32 USD
