Hy-Vee Market Grille is hiring a Clerk to provide quick, friendly service at the Market Grille counter in a fast-paced store environment. You’ll take orders, handle payments, maintain product readiness, and help ensure a positive customer experience.

The role emphasizes food safety, teamwork, and reliable shift attendance. Training is provided, with opportunity to grow within Hy-Vee’s store operations.

Qualifications

• Follow detailed written or verbal instructions and work through tasks with a few concrete variables.
• Perform simple addition and subtraction, copy figures, and count and record accurately.
• Understand and follow verbal or demonstrated directions and communicate supply needs orally or in writing.
• Work effectively as part of a team to deliver a great customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service, greeting customers with a smile.
• Take customer orders at the Market Grille counter and answer the telephone promptly.
• Review daily orders, anticipate product needs, and prepare and replenish product as necessary.
• Pull product from the cooler or freezer to prepare for cooking and ensure adequate supply.
• Handle food safely and review the status and appearance of food for freshness at all times.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area throughout your shift.
• Run the department register, receive payment, and make change where applicable.
• Price and order product and deliver orders as needed.
• Work with co‑workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
