Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Market Grille Clerk to serve customers with a friendly smile and operate in a fast-paced store kitchen environment. You will manage orders, ensure food safety, stock, and maintain cleanliness, contributing to a welcoming customer experience.

Training is provided with no education requirement; six months or less in similar work is typical. Night and weekend shifts are required, and you’ll be part of a supportive, team-oriented Hy‑Vee culture.

Qualifications

• Follow written or verbal instructions and complete tasks with few variables.
• Perform basic arithmetic and accurate record-keeping.
• Understand directions and communicate supply needs clearly.
• Collaborate effectively with a team to deliver a great customer experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service at the Market Grille counter.
• Take customer orders and answer the phone promptly.
• Prepare and replenish products to meet daily orders.
• Handle food safely and ensure freshness.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary workspace.
• Process transactions at the department register.
• Remove trash and wash dishes as needed.
• Price and order product and deliver orders as needed.
• Work with coworkers to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Assist in other store areas and take on special projects.
• Maintain personal hygiene and Hy‑Vee policies.
• Report to work on time.
