Hy-Vee seeks a Market Grille Clerk to greet customers, take orders, and keep the counter running smoothly. You’ll handle food safely, restock items, and work with a team to ensure a positive dining experience for every guest.

This hourly role emphasizes swift service, accuracy, and cleanliness in a fast-paced store kitchen environment where teamwork and customer care are valued daily.

Qualifications

• No education requirement; training provided.
• Six months or less of related work experience; prior food service experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service, greeting customers with a smile and learning their names.
• Take customer orders at the Market Grille counter and answer the telephone promptly, including taking product orders.
• Review daily orders, anticipate product needs, and prepare and replenish product as necessary.
• Pull product from the cooler or freezer to prepare for cooking and ensure an adequate food supply.
• Handle food safely and review the status and appearance of food for freshness at all times.
• Maintain a clean, sanitary work area throughout your shift.
• Check in product, put product away, and review invoices as needed.
• Run the department register, receive payment, and make change where applicable.
• Remove trash and wash dishes as necessary.
• Price and order product and deliver orders as needed.
• Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction and a pleasant work environment.
• Assist in other store areas and take on special projects as assigned.
• Maintain personal hygiene and dress standards and adhere to store policies.
