Job summary

Hy-Vee is seeking a Market Grille Cook to join the Market Grille department. You'll prepare hot and cold menu items from prep to plate, keep the case stocked, and ensure every order is made with care.

You'll provide prompt customer service, maintain sanitation, and work with teammates to deliver a great customer experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment. Training is provided for those new to the role.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Six months or less of similar or related work experience; training provided.

Responsibilities

• Provide prompt, friendly customer service, greeting customers with a smile.
• Prepare cooking surfaces and all menu items including vegetables, sides, meats, breakfast foods.
• Place food in hot cases, monitor amounts, and refill as necessary.
• Stay knowledgeable of all menu items and take guest orders as needed.
• Prepare items for upcoming shifts to keep the department running smoothly.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of Market Grille operations.
• Practice proper sanitation procedures and keep work area clean and organized.
• Order products and supplies as needed or notify managers of needs.
• Work with co-workers as a team to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Assist in other areas of the store and take on special projects as assigned.
