Job summary

MWResource is seeking a Senior Manager of Market Design to lead a team researching and developing enhancements to market frameworks, pricing mechanisms, and operational processes. You will drive complex proposals from conception to approval, collaborating with engineering, operations, planning, and policy experts.

You will monitor industry trends and regulatory developments, present and defend market design initiatives to diverse audiences, and help shape the strategic direction of wholesale

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, business, economics or related field.
• At least ten (10) years relevant work experience in operations, engineering, planning, or other market functions.
• A minimum of five (5) years management experience, with a background leading teams of diverse sizes and levels of experience.
• Master’s degree or Ph.D. preferred.
• Experience within market design, pricing, and regulatory contexts is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop market rules and tariff provisions for market and system operations, day-ahead and real time markets, and related rights.
• Lead cross-departmental projects and strategies to address grid changes.
• Collaborate on annual operating and five-year plans and deploy staff to achieve milestones.
• Lead staff designing Market Enhancements and deliver timely, feasible solutions.
• Communicate how Market Enhancements address market and reliability needs to stakeholders and leadership.
