Job summary

PJM Interconnection seeks a Market Design Specialist to design, analyze, and optimize market structures and rules to ensure efficiency, sustainability, and reliability of the power system during the energy transition.

You will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, PJM stakeholders, and regulatory bodies to develop innovative solutions that address evolving electricity market needs, while leading cross-functional efforts and presenting findings to senior leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field plus equivalent work experience.
• 5 years of experience in an Engineer/Analyst position.
• Ability to produce high-quality work products with attention to detail.
• Experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis.
• Ability to use mathematical and electrical theory.
• Ability to troubleshoot and provide technical support.

Responsibilities

• Analyze electricity market trends and PJM market rules to identify opportunities or inform design decisions.
• Develop market design concepts and strategies to keep PJM at the forefront of the field.
• Demonstrate the ability to perform complex studies and analyses independently.
• Develop position papers to support market design alternatives and internal decisions.
• Lead cross-functional initiatives and present complex ideas to stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
