Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics & Computer Engineering Technology, Electrical & Electronic Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 1–2 years of relevant work experience preferred.
• Experience or exposure to energy market forecasting/analysis, power system analysis, software development, data science, econometric analysis, market design, or optimization algorithms.
• Working knowledge of data analysis and programming tools such as Python, Power BI, and Azure.
• Experience with power engineering or market simulation tools such as PowerGEM or PLEXOS is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and report on the overall health of MISO’s markets, focusing on reliability, efficiency, and whether outcomes align with design goals.
• Perform engineering, statistical, and economic analyses of market operations and market participant behaviors.
• Develop a strong understanding of MISO’s market systems and how they fit together.
• Collect, organize, and analyze data to identify meaningful patterns, trends, and potential concerns.
• Use data visualization tools to turn complex analyses into clear, actionable findings.
• Help improve analytical processes by identifying opportunities to streamline and automate repetitive activities.
