Job summary

Midcontinent-Independent-System (MISO) is seeking a Market Evaluation Analyst II to perform analyses of wholesale electricity markets, evaluate market outcomes, and contribute to market design improvements. The role emphasizes turning complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders and end-use customers.

Responsibilities include developing metrics, automating reporting, and communicating findings to technical and non-technical audiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Economics, Operations Research, or related field.
• At least two years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience with data analysis tools and programming languages such as R, EViews, SAS, Python, VBA, Power BI, and Azure.
• Ability to develop metrics, visualizations, and automated reports, including alerts to identify meaningful changes or trends.

Responsibilities

• Perform statistical and economic analyses of market and system operations.
• Develop a strong working knowledge of MISO’s wholesale electricity markets and how market systems work.
• Assess health and performance of MISO’s markets and report on events.
• Collect, organize, and analyze complex datasets to identify patterns and issues.
• Translate analyses into clear findings and recommendations for business decisions.
