Job summary

TOTE Services LLC is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to manage procurement activities, from requisitions to purchase orders, ensuring compliance with FAR/GSA and company policies. You will coordinate with Port Engineers and Vendors, evaluate quotes, and track orders to ensure timely delivery.

The role requires knowledge of procurement procedures, familiarity with maritime operations, and strong communication skills to support continuous improvement and safety commitments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in supply chain management or related field with 2-3 years procurement experience or training
• Knowledge of purchasing and acquisition procedures including FAR and GSA procurement processes
• Maritime experience preferred
• Proficient in various software programs; strong written and verbal communication skills

Responsibilities

• Review requisitions submitted by internal customers and solicit vendors for price, availability, and delivery schedules
• Prepare purchase orders and ensure conformance with company policies and procedures
• Review quotes, negotiate purchases for best value, and select vendors with confirmation from Port Engineer
• Track deliveries, address late shipments, and resolve discrepancies with quality control
• Vet new vendors and maintain vendor database, including small business concerns; assist with vendor evaluations
