Job summary

USMMI seeks an IT Manager to lead shore-side and shipboard IT operations from its Norfolk corporate office. You will oversee the design, maintenance, and security of LAN/WAN, cloud services, and communications systems, while coordinating with outsourced IT resources to meet budgets and KPIs.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, 10 years of IT experience, and security certifications; travel 10–20% to vessels.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in IT from accredited institution.
• Ten years’ experience managing day-to-day IT functions including networks.
• Certifications preferred: CISA, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, CISSP.
• Experience with SATCOM and shipboard IT systems desired.

Responsibilities

• Manage design, maintenance, and evaluation of IT infra across ship and shore.
• Act as IT representative to vessels and third-party providers.
• Oversee software services accounts and on‑premises support.
• Support cybersecurity compliance with NIST 800-171, CMMC, ISO 27001.
