Job summary

USMMI seeks an IT Manager to lead shore-side and shipboard IT operations from its Norfolk, VA office. You will oversee the full IT stack, ensure cybersecurity compliance, manage vendor relationships, and align IT initiatives with safety and operational KPIs.

The role requires strong expertise in network and cloud services, plus experience with SATCOM, NS software, and governance frameworks. Remote travel is possible.

Qualifications

• IT-related bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Ten years’ experience in actively managing day-to-day IT functions including network administration, help ticket resolution, and working with third-party vendors.
• Certifications preferred: CISA, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, CISSP

Responsibilities

• Manage design, maintenance, development, and evaluation of all vessel and shoreside IT infrastructure systems and services.
• Act as primary IT representative to USMMI vessels and resolve tickets beyond third-party contracts.
• Oversee third-party on-premises and after-hours Help Desk and ensure contracted response rates.
• Serve as NSE Software Administrator: submit/monitor tickets in ABS Wavesight and implement interface changes.
• Assist cybersecurity compliance with standards including NIST 800-171, CMMC, ISO 27001:2022, and Coast Guard Cybersecurity in the Marine Transportation System.
• Assist with compliance to DFAR in contracting and proposals.
