Job summary

Logistec is seeking an Equipment Operator II to safely operate cranes, excavators, loaders, and forklifts in a fast-paced port terminal. You will load, unload, and transfer bulk materials while ensuring safety and efficiency in cargo handling.

You will inspect equipment, document activities, and collaborate with terminal teams to optimize throughput. A TWIC card and a high school diploma are required, with opportunities for growth and development within Logistec.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; certifications or training preferred.
• Ability to obtain a TWIC card is required.
• Experience operating heavy equipment, preferably in maritime or bulk terminal environments.
• Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to maritime operations.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate heavy maritime equipment including cranes, excavators, front-end loaders, and other bulk cargo handling machinery.
• Perform routine equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Load, unload, and transfer bulk materials between vessels, trucks, and rail.
• Collaborate with terminal teams to maximize productivity and minimize delays.
• Follow safety policies, OSHA regulations, and terminal procedures to maintain a safe environment.
• Maintain accurate documentation of equipment usage and cargo movements.
• Identify equipment issues and perform basic troubleshooting or repairs.
• Support training of new operators by sharing safety practices.
