Job summary

Livebunkers.com is seeking a logistics professional to oversee the sales and distribution of marine fuels, coordinating daily activities of barges and tugs with refinery and operators. Responsibilities include planning barge movements, maintaining customer relationships, and ensuring quality control across the distribution chain.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • Bachelor's degree in maritime, business, engineering or related field is desired.
  • Three to five years' experience in the petroleum industry with duties directly related to transport of petroleum in bulk aboard barges or tankers.
  • Petroleum marketing experience desired.
  • Previous experience in planning and scheduling petroleum barge movements desired.
  • Knowledge of Hawaii State Harbor System desired.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Mathematics skills.
  • Competent in use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Performs and oversees the daily scheduling of the Company's chartered tug and barge assets to fulfill requirements of internal and external barging customers.
  • Develops customer relationships and seeks to grow sales of Par Hawaii marine fuels.
  • Coordinates sales agreements for spot and term sales of bunker fuels to vessels.
  • Provides pricing and handles negotiation of current customers with guidance and oversight from the local and corporate marketing and sales division.
  • Monitors availability of chartered tugs and barges and schedule accordingly with barge operator on a daily basis.
  • Works directly with State Harbors Division to book pier space for all Company's barge operations.
  • Performs and oversees planning and coordinating barge cargo operations or pipeline logistics with Company refinery, terminal, neighbor island terminals and external terminal operators.
  • Drives quality assurance by staying abreast of industry standards and verifying product quality throughout the distribution chain.
  • Documents and maintains records of specifications for products loaded to barge and assures the adherence of quality control procedures in the handling of products.
  • Performs other Duties as assigned.
