Job summary

Associated Terminals in the United States operates a maritime cargo handling facility where the Industrial Forklift Operator moves and secures cargo using heavy forklifts (8,000–50,000 lbs) and related equipment. This role emphasizes safety, inspections, and accurate record-keeping in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include routine maintenance, deck and warehouse support, and precise transloading to trucks, railcars, and ships.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred).
• At least 1 year of experience operating heavy equipment in a maritime or stevedoring environment (preferred).
• Experience in cargo transportation (preferred).
• Ability to safely operate assigned equipment and work effectively as part of a team.
• Proficiency in clerical tasks, record keeping, and equipment operation.
• Must possess a valid TWIC Card.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain heavy equipment with a focus on safety and efficiency.
• Conduct pre-job inspections and perform routine maintenance on assigned equipment.
• Assist with deck and warehouse operations as needed to support cargo handling.
• Perform quality inspections and record production information.
• Transload cargo to/from trucks, railcars, vessels, and barges with counts and safety compliance.
• Support company safety initiatives and follow all directives.
