Nauticus, a maritime discovery center in Norfolk, VA, seeks a Maritime Center Specialist II (Education) to present and develop educational programs across the region. The role requires strong public speaking, enthusiasm for engaging with people, and the ability to adapt to diverse audiences.

This is a year-round, part-time position with varied weekday/weekend hours. Work location is at One Waterside Drive, Norfolk, VA.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent is required.
• Experience in a museum or visitor attraction environment is preferred.
• Some college is preferred for candidates.
• Experience in formal or informal education environments is desirable.

Responsabilités

• Conduct public presentations for school groups on/offsite.
• Engage museum guests through formal programming and informal interactions.
• Collaborate with educators to develop and execute programs.
• Promote and support education programs and events.
• Present STEM and history programs to diverse audiences.
