Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in History, Public History, Museum Studies, Education, or American Studies; four years of museum or related work
• Master’s degree in History, Public History, Museum Studies, Education, or American Studies preferred
• Experience with North Carolina curriculum standards
• Strong research, writing, public speaking, organizational, and communication skills
• Experience with collections and archival materials
• Knowledge to conceive, plan and direct programs for learners of all ages, coordinating volunteers
• Experience with naval and maritime history and the North Carolina coastal environment

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver curriculum-based educational programs for the Battleship North Carolina Memorial
• Recruit, train, coordinate, and recognize volunteers
• Build community and educational partnerships
• Manage program administration, including budgeting, scheduling, communications, and coordination with other museum departments.
