Job summary

Associated Terminals, LLC is seeking a Clerk (Field Clerk on barges and ships) to support cargo operations at our Chalmette, LA location. The role involves identifying, sorting, documenting cargo, and coordinating with the Clerk-In-Charge to ensure accurate cargo handling and reporting.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year in maritime/warehousing environments, basic math and English skills, and a TWIC card. The position includes training, PPE provision, and a structured shift schedule.

Qualifications

• Experience in maritime, industrial, or warehousing environments.
• Fluent English and basic math skills.
• Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team.

Responsibilities

• Identify, stow, and sort cargo loaded or discharged from vessels into the terminal.
• Document cargo details using load lists, scanners, and tally sheets for reports.
• Monitor loading/unloading of trucks, barges, and railcars to ensure smooth flow.
• Verify cargo counts, weights, measurements, marks, and dimensions.
• Position cargo in staging areas to maintain efficiency and safety.
