Job summary

Seaboard Marine Houston is seeking a Shipping Clerk to verify, match, and record service orders and seal numbers with cargo and containers per the stow plan before loading or discharging from vessels.

Applicants must have basic English, a high school diploma, and the ability to handle alpha/numeric data. The job requires teamwork, initiative, and flexibility for extended hours, including nights and weekends, with benefits such as 401(k) matching and health coverage.

Responsibilities

• Verify, compare, and match the service order and seal numbers with containers and cargo according to the stow plan before loading or discharging from vessel.
• Record stow locations of cargo and containers and translate into stow plans.
• Record, track, and verify cargo and container information using a handheld computer.
• Assist with direct discharge and yard load-out of steel and aluminum cargoes.
• Coordinate with Foreman and CIC on container and cargo placement on the vessel.
