Job summary

Norton Lilly International is seeking a focused Boarding Agent to provide comprehensive port operations support for vessels calling at Saint Rose, LA. You will board vessels, coordinate services, and ensure regulatory compliance while maintaining strong communication with ship crews and port authorities.

This role requires adaptability to a dynamic, 24/7 work environment, with after-hours and travel to vessels in port as needed.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• College coursework in business, management, maritime studies, or related field preferred.
• ASBA Agency Certification required or must be obtained within six months of hire.
• TWIC credential within 90 days of hire.
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable MVR and transportation.
• Ability to board vessels and work in port environments.

Responsibilities

• Board vessels on arrival and throughout port stay to provide agency support.
• Serve as company representative during port calls with professionalism.
• Deliver and collect ship documents, parcels, crew items, and supplies.
• Coordinate port services (pilots, tugs, bunkers, provisions, transport) as needed.
• Maintain communications with ship masters, crews, and operations teams to resolve issues.
• Liaise with port authorities and regulatory agencies for timely clearance and service.
• Prepare and submit governmental and agency documents for approvals.
• Provide courteous, professional service to shipmasters, crews, and clients.
• Adhere to safety regulations and PPE requirements.
