Job summary

Kongsberg Discovery, a subsidiary of KONGSBERG, is seeking an Applications Engineer in Houston, TX. You will support sales through technical demonstrations, customer training, and post-sales technical guidance for positioning, communications, and reference systems.

The role transitions field service experience to an onshore setting, with opportunities for occasional field work and international travel. Bachelor’s degree in engineering and strong English communication are required.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in engineering or related technical field.
Several years of field service experience supporting positioning and communication systems.
Experience supporting sales teams or working in a customer-facing technical role.
Background in ocean/maritime technology, navigation, GNSS, radar, situational awareness, or related domain.
Excellent English communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

Develop customer procedures for bespoke operations and applications.
Partner with the sales team to provide technical expertise during customer engagements and solution design discussions.
Deliver high-impact product demonstrations in person and remotely to communicate system capabilities and value.
Gather feedback and support sales and marketing collateral with data sets, images, and videos.
Conduct customer training sessions on system operation and best practices.
