Job summary

Prysmian in the United States is seeking a results-driven Manufacturing Process Engineer to optimize production, reduce waste, and improve product quality.

You will collaborate with production staff to identify effective methods, develop tooling, parameter settings, and equipment setups while leading readiness for new product launches.

Strong leadership, problem-solving, and Lean/Six Sigma experience in plastics/manufacturing are required to deliver measurable gains in productivity and OEE.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze and improve manufacturing processes to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance product quality.
  • Collaborate with production staff to identify and implement effective manufacturing methods and technologies.
  • Develop and optimize process parameters, tooling, fixtures, and equipment setups to support stable and repeatable production.
  • Lead manufacturing readiness activities for new product launches, including process development, validation, and documentation.
  • Benchmark industry best practices and identify opportunities to integrate advanced manufacturing techniques into the organization.
  • Plan, coordinate, and execute manufacturing improvement projects from concept through implementation.
  • Provide hands-on technical support for daily production issues, including troubleshooting equipment, tooling, and process deviations.
  • Deliver measurable improvements in productivity, scrap reduction, cycle time, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Maintain strong working relationships across departments to ensure alignment on production goals and priorities.
  • Apply Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma methodologies to drive continuous improvement and cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Support operator training by developing clear work instructions, SOPs, and process control methods.

Required Skills/Qualifications
  • Results‑driven engineer with demonstrated success in a high‑performance manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to guide cross‑functional teams through coaching and technical mentorship.
  • Proven experience managing complex engineering projects from planning through execution within budget and schedule.
  • Ability to build organizational support for new manufacturing methods, technologies, and process improvements.Skilled at developing people and achieving results through collaboration and influence.
  • Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
  • Strong technical training and instructional design skills; able to translate complex concepts into effective training materials.
  • Quick learner with the ability to master new technologies, processes, and engineering concepts.
  • Strong project management and problem‑solving skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably with experience in plastics, polymers, or related manufacturing processes.
  • 5 to 7 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing environment preferred but not required.
