Job summary

Automation Personnel Services is seeking an experienced Combo Welder/Fitter in Channelview, TX to fit, weld and fabricate structural steel components for marine and heavy industrial projects. You will read blueprints, perform precise fit-up, and produce high-quality welds using SMAW, FCAW and aluminum processes.

Responsibilities include reading drawings, measuring, assembling parts, inspecting work, maintaining equipment, and following safety protocols in a fast-paced shop.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years as Combo Welder/Fitter in marine, shipyard, or heavy industrial environments.
• Proficient at reading blueprints, fabrication drawings, and welding symbols.
• Ability to pass a hands-on weld and fit test; operate cutting torches and grinders.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints to layout, fit, and assemble structural steel components.
• Weld using SMAW, FCAW and Aluminum processes in multiple positions.
• Ensure proper fit-up, inspect work, and maintain dimensional accuracy.
• Follow safety procedures and maintain clean, safe work areas.
