Job summary

Englobal a Gulf Island Company in Houston, TX is seeking a Structural Combo Fitter/Welder to assemble structural steel components in our fabrication and I&E integration shop. You will read blueprints, lay out parts and fit them using MIG, Flux Core and Stick welding, ensuring accuracy and adherence to AWS D1.5 standards.

You'll perform related duties, maintain a safe work area, participate in inventory checks, operate basic mill and crane tasks, and pass pre-employment tests.

Qualifications

• 2+ years experience in structural welding and fitting.
• Must pass a structural fitter test (45 degree cut out I Beam with torch).
• Must pass a structural welder test (3G on 1/2” carbon steel plate, MIG & FLUX).
• Knowledge of AWS D1.5 fitting tolerances.
• Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Must pass a background check.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, position, align and fit together fabricated parts according to blueprint and layout specifications.
• Use various welding processes (GMAW, FACW, SMAW).
• Maintain a safe and clean work area and communicate effectively with team and supervisors.
• Perform basic crane operation and related tooling tasks.
• Read weld symbols on shop drawings and apply specifications.
