Job summary

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required, experience in vehicle/equipment repair preferred.
  • Two years of repair/maintenance experience or equivalent education.
  • Valid Florida driver’s license and ability to pass required tests.

Responsibilities

  • Perform semi-skilled to skilled mechanical repairs on engines, brakes, steering, electrical systems and more.
  • Maintain and repair outboard engines for VSO vessels and marine equipment.
  • Document work, inspections and safety compliance with accurate records.
  • Operate and weld using appropriate welding equipment on various metals.
  • Manage inventory, service manuals and parts lists; ensure cleanliness of the facility.
  • Conduct routine vessel checks prior to patrol and ensure proper tool usage.
